Parents and children earning money by taking surveys
Taking surveys can be a source of extra income for families. Companies are interested in families’ opinions as they consume specific products and services. As an example, mothers of babies will typically change their consumer behaviour a great deal after giving birth. This is a great moment for companies to promote their brand, i.e. convince the mother that their brand of nappies is the best. Market research is a tool for companies to understand families’ consumer behaviour and use the insights to shape the marketing message and products.
Surveys for parents – don’t sell yourself short
Since families are a high-value target group that market research companies are willing to pay more for, it’s important to choose a survey site which pays a fair amount of incentives. Check the reviews on HuginX before deciding which site(s) to register with instead of signing up for the first and best panel site you come across. Note that some research panels pay as little as 20 cents per survey, while other companies will pay a minimum of $1 for a 10 minutes survey.
Can children take surveys?
Children can take surveys following the minimum age in each country. The minimum age for taking surveys in the US is 13, in line with Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Children under 13 years of age can only take surveys with their parent’s supervision and explicit consent.
In Europe, the minimum age varies per country, and it’s up to the survey site to provide the correct guidance following local regulations. If a child is below the minimum age, they should not be able to sign up and register their own account. All surveys done by children under the minimum age should be answered under parental supervision.
