Earn incentives by participating in user testing
Signing up with TestingTime is straightforward, and you’ll be asked the usual demographic and profiling questions, which are data TestingTime will use to match you with the relevant studies. Our recommendation is to be fully honest and accurate when you provide your data to avoid any risk of getting disqualified later in the process. All data and answers are protected and used only to match you with the correct study, and the whole process takes less than five minutes.
TestingTime will send you an invitation email when a study becomes available, followed by a few screening questions to determine if you are a match with the target group of the project. If you are a match, you will be invited to participate in the study. You can choose a time and day that works for you if you accept.
You can test apps, websites, products, gadgets, and food. And a great thing about user testing is that you can be among the first to find future products and services and influence their development. You will also receive cash compensation and insight for your work.
While you will make some money from each test, it won’t be enough to support your daily living. You will be invited to test on an irregular basis. The type of study and online or in-person will determine how much you earn.
- Participating in in-person studies can help you earn the most.
- User tests/interviews are a way to earn less.
- Earnings from online surveys are a bit lower than from in-person studies and tests/interviews.
Studies typically last between 30 and 90 minutes. You can take part in some studies from your home, while others are conducted at the customer’s place.
How difficult is it to qualify for studies?
Let’s be honest with you. It might take some time before you can participate in your first study. Many factors will affect how often you take part in the tests:
- Your geographic location is the most important. You will receive more invitations if you live in one of TestingTime’s core market areas, which is where they have the highest number of clients and thus the most studies. The Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France are their core countries.
- After receiving a study invitation, you will need to answer some questions to ensure that you are a good fit for the test. TestingTime will learn more about your profile the more you answer questions over time, allowing them to send you invitations for future tests that are more related to your profile. This will increase your chances of being accepted for studies.
Study invitations will continue to be sent on an irregular basis and will not be a full-time income source.
To become a tester, you don’t need to have any work experience or education. However, two things are essential:
- First, honesty. You must answer all questions honestly and share your opinions during testing.
- The second is reliability. Once you agree to participate in a study, you are expected to be there on time.
How much can I make from TestingTime?
How much exactly you will earn will depend on the type and length of each particular study, as well as on whether you will be able to participate in it from home or have to attend in person. Ranked in terms of payment level, here are the ways you can earn money with TestingTime:
- ‘In-house studies’ take place at a time and location determined by the customer.
- ‘In-home studies’ are conducted at a time determined by the customer at the location determined by the test user.
- ‘Moderated online studies’ are conducted online at a time determined by the customer.
- ‘Unmoderated online studies’ are conducted online at a time determined by the test user (within a certain period of time).
