SurveyTime Review
While SurveyTime may seem like a tempting opportunity, there are big concerns about the platform’s reliability and transparency. In this review, we’ll take a critical look at SurveyTime, examining its pros and cons, and helping you decide whether or not it’s a good fit for you.
**Currently NOT recommended.**
Is SurveyTime a legit survey site?
On paper, SurveyTime is a legit online survey platform that allows users to earn cash rewards by completing surveys. The site is owned by Persona.ly, an Israeli market research provider that generates revenue by selling the data collected through surveys to its clients.
However, based on all the issues we have encountered during our testing, it is difficult to definitively classify SurveyTime as a “legit” survey site. While the low payout threshold and cash payments are positive features, the presence of fake reviews on Trustpilot and the concerns about rewards not being as advertised, a confusing reward system, confusing terms and conditions, and an unclear privacy policy raise legitimate concerns about the trustworthiness and transparency of the platform.
It is important to note that SurveyTime is not alone in facing these types of issues, as many survey sites have been accused of similar practices. However, it is up to users to carefully evaluate the pros and cons of SurveyTime, and other survey sites, and make an informed decision about whether or not to participate. It is always recommended to read reviews, terms and conditions, and privacy policies carefully before signing up with any survey site, to ensure that users are aware of the risks and rewards involved.
How much can you make on SurveyTime?
SurveyTime does not use a points system. Instead, it claims to offer instant payments of $1.00 for each completed survey, making it one of the few survey panels with no payment minimum. Once a survey is completed, users can choose from a variety of gift card options, including Amazon, Paypal, Target, and Decathlon in addition to cryptocurrency, depending on their country of residence. After selecting a reward, a confirmation email with instructions will be sent to the user, which may vary depending on the chosen reward.
NOT what it says on the tin
Sounds good on paper: SurveyTime advertises a payment rate of $1 per survey on their sign-up page (see screenshot below).
However, in reality, this is not always the case judging from our experience. Many users (including us) have reported receiving $0.50 per survey or even much lower for the majority of the surveys, despite the advertised flat rate of $1.
Reality: You get much less than advertised.
In addition to the confusion about payment rates, the Terms and Conditions on SurveyTime are very unclear. It’s really hard for users to understand how much they will be paid for a particular survey, even after studying the T&Cs in detail. Very disappointing. While SurveyTime does offer a low payout threshold and a variety of payment options, users should be aware that the payment process may not always be straightforward.
SurveyTime fake reviews
At the time of writing this review (April 2023), SurveyTime has been accused of breaching Trustpilot’s terms and conditions by displaying inaccurate star ratings on their profile:
“We’ve found out that this company is breaching our terms of use with the way they’re displaying Trustpilot content. They could be showing an inaccurate star rating or TrustScore, or displaying reviews they’re not permitted to use. This could be misleading” Trustpilot
As you probably know, Trustpilot is one of the largest review platforms allowing users to rate and review businesses based on their experiences. However, it is against Trustpilot’s policies for businesses to manipulate their ratings by incentivizing users to leave positive reviews or by leaving fake reviews themselves. As an example, we found a user from Vietnam writing more than 20 5-star reviews of Surveytime.
In this case, it appears that SurveyTime may have engaged in such activities, resulting in Trustpilot taking action against the company by calling out that their terms have been breached. In general, fake reviews is a serious problem for both survey takers and market research companies. For survey takers, fake reviews can be misleading and can influence decisions in a negative way. They can create a false impression of a survey site leading to disappointment or even harm. For market research companies, fake reviews can damage their reputation and credibility. In addition, fake reviews can also undermine the trust and integrity of review platforms, such as Trustpilot, which rely on honest and unbiased feedback from users.
Conclusion
On the positive side, SurveyTime appears to offer several advantages to its users. Firstly, the site promises instant payout, which means that users can receive their rewards quickly and easily. This is a really positive feature for users who are looking to make a quick buck without having to wait a long time to cash out as with other sites.
Additionally, SurveyTime promises fair compensation with a flat reward of $1 per survey, no matter where you are located, or for what type of survey. This is an important factor for many survey takers, luring many to sign up for their platform.
SurveyTime also offers cash payments, which is a preferred option for many users who do not want to deal with gift cards or other rewards. This makes it easy for users to use the money as they see fit.
Lastly, SurveyTime is mobile-friendly, which means that users can access and complete surveys on their mobile devices. This is a positive feature for users who prefer to use their phones or tablets to take surveys, as it allows them to earn money on the go.
In other words, SurveyTime ticks a lot of boxes on paper, but in reality, the situation is quite different.
On the negative side, however, there are several concerns about SurveyTime. First, it’s the issue of fake reviews on Trustpilot as described above. Then it’s the rewards which are not as advertised, leading to users feeling cheated or misled. This is a serious concern, as it could erode trust in the platform and discourage users from participating in surveys.
Furthermore, SurveyTime’s reward system is hard to understand, making it difficult for users to know how much they can earn and how to redeem their rewards. This can be frustrating for users who want clarity and transparency about how the platform works. Additionally, SurveyTime’s terms and conditions are totally confusing lacking important information about their rewards policy.
SurveyTime sounds like the ideal survey site on paper with no payment threshold, fair compensation, cash payments, and mobile-friendliness. In reality, there are several concerns such as fake reviews and rewards not as advertised.
Our conclusion: NOT recommended.
