iPoll Review

Created in 2008, iPoll is a popular survey panel operated by a leader in marketing research. iPoll used to be called Survey Head but was renamed to what it is now when it was bought by Survey Sampling International which is now known as Dynata. iPoll gives you the chance to register through its website or its smartphone app. You can also sign up using your social media accounts. The surveys on iPoll want to get feedback from you on a number of topics. You will earn cash by doing these surveys which will be credited to your account.

Is iPoll a legit survey-site?

iPoll is a legit survey site that will reward you with cash, gift cards, and sweepstakes entries for sharing your opinions. It has an app that makes it very convenient for users. The pay is quite low and you may get screened out of surveys many times but several thousands of people use iPoll. iPoll uses these surveys to gather information for their partner companies who need market research.

Data Privacy: Any reason for concern?

iPoll is very clear about how they use your data, and how they share and protect it. The iPoll’s privacy policy is very transparent regarding all the data they might collect about you. These include your name, email address, education, occupation, gender, and others. Whenever a survey collects sensitive data such as your sexual life, political views, race origin, and religion, iPoll will request your explicit consent first. They also give you the right to access the information they hold about you, the right to withdraw consent, and the right to delete and rectify your data. Dynata’s third-party partners may use your data to develop audience insights or models but all will be with your consent. iPoll is doing the best it can to conform with GDPR, which sets high standards for your privacy protection in Europe.

How to get started

You must be at least 18 years of age in order to join iPoll. The only countries iPoll is still working in are the US, UK, and Canada. You can visit their site and sign up from there or download the app and use it to sign up if you live in one of the three countries mentioned above. You can use your Facebook or LinkedIn account to just log in for iPoll. If you click the login button, it will ask you to log in via Facebook or LinkedIn. Once iPoll sees that your Facebook or LinkedIn account has not been registered yet, it will ask you whether you want to sign up using any of the platforms, then just continue with the regular sign-up process.

What about the survey experience?

What’s unique about iPoll is that it encourages you to use their mobile app instead of the regular browser method to complete surveys but it allows you to still complete surveys using the regular browser by simply logging in to their site. Their app is available on both Android and Apple devices. One of their earning opportunities requires the use of a mobile device, you will really have to download the app at some point in order to maximize your earning potential. iPoll is a platform that is best suited for people who are always on the go as you can just install the app and take the surveys anytime and anywhere you want provided you have an internet connection on your mobile device.

How much can you make on iPoll?

You can earn money by answering surveys, getting badges or achievement points, accomplishing missions, and joining in quarterly prize draws. Most surveys pay less than $1.50 or £1.20 and take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. In the UK, you can redeem your cash balance for Amazon gift cards, iTunes gift cards, or PayPal when you reach £25. For the US, the minimum payout threshold is $25 if you redeem via gift cards and $50 if you choose PayPal. The threshold seems too high compared to what you are earning per survey so you probably need about 30 surveys before you can cash out. If you choose PayPal, you can only redeem via the website. iPoll processes your payment within a few days, but sometimes it can take up to 4 weeks. Moreover, you will get a $5 bonus just for signing up and a chance to enter and win in the quarterly sweepstakes draws for up to $10,000 USD.

What can prevent me from cashing out?

Not enough accumulated credit means no cash-out. You must be attentive and honest when taking surveys, failure to do this will have your survey submissions rejected. Also, you are only allowed to create one account, as multiple accounts can be regarded as a fraud and will ultimately have you banned from the panel and lose all accumulated money in your account.
