NielsenIQ (NIQ)

NielsenIQ is a global information services company supplying consumer and market insights solutions in 90 countries. Their primary focus is on consumer the consumer industry with a large proportion of the world’s largest brands and retailers on their client list.
Important: Not the same as the Nielsen Company
NielsenIQ became a stand-alone company in January 2021 as it completed its split from Nielsen’s Global Media Business. The new company was branded NielsenIQ and is entirely separated from the long-established and famous Nielsen Company.
Innovative insights solutions
The firm’s approach is to “connect the dots that others can’t see and build the bigger picture that others miss”. Through their work, they combine large datasets with the latest technology solutions to create insights solutions for their clients.
NielsenIQ merging with Gfk
In 2022 GfK (which also includes Netquest and Wakoopa), announced a definitive agreement with NielsenIQ through which the companies plan to combine, creating new capabilities in the consumer and retail measurement industry. Advent International, owner of NielsenIQ, will be the majority shareholder in the combined company, while GfK’s majority shareholder Nuremberg Institute for Market Decisions will remain invested as a significant shareholder in the combined company.
